In a support group or with a counslor, people will not judge you or try to tell you what to do. They are there to listen and share feelings and experiences in a confidential setting.

You can click on "SUPPORT" on this site's home page to find a support group near you.  You may also contact the NE Center of Excellence to meet with the social worker for counseling If you do not live in New England go to the national HDSA website www.hdsa.org  to find the closest support group or Center of Excellence near you.   You DO NOT have to go this road alone. Support is all around you.

My wife was diagnosed in 1982 her suffering came to a end march 31st of 2005. It was a long 23 years and a day didnt go by that i didnt think about H.D and the way it was affecting her she went from a talented woman who could do just about everything from crafts to cooking plus holding down a full time job and most important taking care of me. well never mind what she ended up as thats not important i want to remember her the way she was.and i find i am still thinking about it after a year without her. I just want to let people know that life does go on ive met another woman  who i care very much about so i am getting back to a more normal life. H.D was hard on both of us but of course it was harder on my wife she had it.She fought it as long as she could until H.D came into our lives i didnt know what a tough lady i had.
